At this time, CAHIIM continues to welcome applications for <strong>Peer Reviewer<\/strong> and <strong>industry professional reviewer<\/strong> positions<strong>.<\/strong> See tabs below for additional information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">\n<h2 id=\"volunteer-opportunities\" class=\"wp-block-heading alignfull\">Volunteer Opportunities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<details class=\"wp-block-details alignfull is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Peer Reviewers<\/summary>\n<h3 id=\"peer-reviewers\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Peer Reviewers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accreditation Peer Reviewers are the essential basis of the CAHIIM program accreditation assessment process. Peer reviewers are academic professionals who are associated with CAHIIM Accredited programs. Peer Reviewers are designated as representative of either the Health Informatics, the Health Information Management, or the Health Science professions. They are trained by or obtaining sufficient information to understand the total educational program and to ensure the quality of the program\u2019s stated philosophy, goals, objectives, and curriculum with the established Accreditation Standards. Trained Reviewers are dedicated volunteers and, through their role, provide a service in verifying program information on the operations and performance of all Accreditation Standards. The peer review team will report all findings during the site visit to either the Accreditation Council, based on the program and program level they are reviewing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"requirements-for-peer-reviewers\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements for Peer Reviewers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peer Reviewers must be able to travel across the country, have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, good time management skills, flexibility, demonstrate good team leadership, and have access to a laptop or tablet computer. A valid driver\u2019s license is required for this position. The Board has the fiduciary responsibility and sets the strategic direction of the corporation. The contributions of our Board are vital to CAHIIM achieving its mission and its newly articulated strategic direction of independence, growth, continued relevance and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CAHIIM is currently organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. CAHIIM serves the public by establishing standards, as well as enforcing these standards for the educational preparation of Health Informatics (HI), Health Information Management (HIM) and other health professionals ensuring a workforce that can provide the highest achievable quality of Healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull has-dividers-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 id=\"qualifications-of-board-directors\" class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-heading-decor\">Qualifications of Board Directors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Board Directors, in addition to demonstrating leadership skills in their field of practice, must exhibit exemplary ethical and legal behavior and abide by CAHIIM\u2019s code of conduct of confidentiality and fiduciary responsibility.&nbsp; Board Directors must have no concurrent employment and\/or service that would represent a conflict of interest to CAHIIM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All Directors must have an earned graduate degree, with a doctoral degree preferred. The Board of Directors meets quarterly with a minimum of one in-person meeting per year. Directors also chair and serve on Board committees, including the Finance, Governance, and Nominations Committees.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details alignfull is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Health Informatics Accreditation Council (HIAC)<\/summary>\n<h3 id=\"health-informatics-accreditation-council\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Health Informatics Accreditation Council<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Health Informatics Accreditation Council (HIAC) members meet at minimum for 1 hour monthly via teleconference to review programs and recommend the appropriate accreditation status.  The HIAC also develops and updates standards for accreditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The contributions of our volunteers are vital to the CAHIIM program accreditation assessment process.
