Call for Nominations: 2027 HSAC Volunteer Service

The contributions of our volunteers are vital to the CAHSE program accreditation assessment process. Serving on the Health Science Accreditation Council (HSAC) provides an excellent opportunity to give back to the community, network with industry experts, develop new skills, and build on your existing professional knowledge.

About HSAC

Evaluating Programs and Rendering Accreditation Decisions

Reviewing Peer Reviewer reports and institutional responses to determine if a program meets established quality standards—and making formal decisions on the program’s accreditation status.

Developing, Updating, and Refining Standards

Participating in regular policy and criteria reviews to ensure accreditation benchmarks reflect current industry developments, regulatory requirements, workforce needs, and educational best practices.

Monitoring Ongoing Compliance and Quality Improvement

Ensuring accredited programs maintain educational quality and address previously identified areas for improvement.

Qualifications for Council Members

Required:

  • For Educators: Demonstrated experience with proven educational leadership.
  • For Practitioners: Experience as adjunct faculty or as a member of an educational program advisory board in a relevant discipline.
  • Education: Minimum of a baccalaureate degree in a field related to the Council’s scope.
  • Ethics: Exemplary ethical and legal behavior and agreement to abide by CAHSE’s confidentiality, conflict of interest, and fiduciary responsibilities

Desirable Attributes:

  • Innovative and collaborative mindset.
  • Broad knowledge base in the discipline with excellent communication skills.
  • Graduate or terminal degree (Doctoral preferred).

Terms of Service

  • Members are appointed for three-year terms
  • Service begins on January 1, 2027
