FILE A COMPLAINT
CAHSM is committed to ensuring that all accredited programs maintain the highest levels of integrity and adherence to established Standards. We provide a formal process for students and public stakeholders to voice concerns regarding non-compliance with CAHSM Accreditation Standards or issues related to CAHSM’s own organizational practices.
Complaints Against a CAHSM-Accredited Program
Before filing a formal complaint with CAHSM, please note that CAHSM is not a direct mediator for individual student grades or disciplinary disputes. Our investigation is strictly limited to issues where a program may be in non-compliance with CAHSM Standards.
Criteria for Filing:
- Target Standards: The complaint must specifically address a program’s failure to comply with one or more CAHSM Accreditation Standards.
- Exhaustion of Remedies: Complainants must provide clear evidence that they have first exhausted all available steps to reach a resolution at the sponsoring institution, including following the program’s official student grievance procedure.
- Format: All complaints must be submitted in writing and signed by the complainant. While the identity of the complainant is protected by CAHSM during the investigation, anonymous or unsigned complaints will not be processed.
Steps to Submit:
- Exhaust Institutional Procedures: Review and complete the grievance or complaint process provided by your college or university.
- Formal Written Submission: Draft a formal letter that outlines the specific Standards being violated and includes evidence of your attempts to resolve the issue internally.
- Initial Consultation with CAHSM: After submitting a formal document, CAHSM staff will contact you to discuss the concerns.
- Investigation & Resolution: CAHSM staff will engage in an investigation process and offer a possible resolution
Complaints Against CAHSM
Stakeholders may also submit complaints regarding CAHSM’s own practices, activities, or policies and procedures.
- Submission Requirements: These must be submitted in writing and signed by the complainant.
- Review Process: Complaints against the organization are referred to the Board of Directors.
- Resolution: CAHSM will communicate the Board resolutions to the complainant within 30 days of receiving the written complaint
